I saw an old lady drop her bags the other day and I helped her pick them up. Her face was red with embarrassment. "Don't worry", I said.
In the picture I drew above, it's a girl in the rain and her makeup is running. But she's smiling.
I wanted to show that we should be grateful in the bad moments. Grateful that we get to experience everything that life throws at us.
Comedian Louis C.K. said, "We're lucky to have sad moments." And he's right. We're lucky to be able to experience the many emotions that life offers.
Physicist Stephen Hawking has had ALS for many years. He's disabled form the neck down and speaks through a computer.
Many of us would succumb to that amount of change. But he was still able to say, "The universe is amazing and vast. We are lucky to be living and witnessing. And for that, I am eternally grateful."
The makeup of the girl is running for a reason. Because bad moments have a tendency to bring out the real "us".
I am grateful for everyone who has helped me without asking for anything in return.
I hope to return the favor. And for that, I am grateful.
- Be grateful today -
